What???? Three Donuts!!!!!

I was so excited that Shane was coming down this morning to spend the weekend.


When he arrived, I found out he ate 3 donuts in the car on the way! THANKS POP-POP BILL!

Then of course his friend, Michael, had to get into the act!

But nothing that a good old hot tub would not cure.

My Uncle, My Godfather

Yesterday I received very sad news that my Uncle Lenny, my godfather, passed. This photo of my mom and my uncle was taken at our son's, wedding. I will always remember his smile. He was a great husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, friend and he will be dearly missed.


My Uncle Lenny and Aunt Shirley lived a very fulfilling and busy life. You just never knew when they were going to pop in. They were into RVs and traveling, and I will think of them often when Bill and I do the same.

We celebrated Uncle Lenny's life. Aunt Shirley's nephew, Michael, did a wonderful job with the memories he had of growing up. The one that stuck in my mind, was their 2 week camping trip to Maine. After Uncle Lenny set up camp, they waited for Aunt Shirley's brother, Henny, and family to arrive, only to find that Henny forgot to make his reservation for a campsite. Uncle Lenny decided if Henny and family had to camp in the parking lot, then they would not be alone. Uncle Lenny packed up his family and moved their campsite to the parking lot alongside Michael's family because "that's the kind of guy he was."

The priest gave a wonderful sermon on how we are not made to be perfect here on earth. Once we have reached our goal of "perfection," there is no more reason for us to be here, and we are called home......

I could not help but notice the stunning sunset as we drove home. As I looked at the gorgeous sky, I imagined how beautiful it must be where My Uncle, My Godfather is now resting in peace.

Great Wedding Videos

There are 2 great wedding videos on the internet that I've decided to post. I guess I'm into wedding videos because that's my daughter's business and I assist her when she needs my help.

Tim's Wedding

Eileen's family, the dancing fools, didn't disappoint us! I think mom had a difficult time giving up her Timmy.

Tim and Alyse have been going together since High School. They have both finished college and now are beginning their lives together.

We made sure we were back in Maryland for our good friends, Eileen and Larry's son's wedding. Their daughter, Kelli, was a bridesmaid (and a very beautiful one at that). Can you tell how proud they are? (they should be)

Historical East Coast Trip

Our bus driver, Art, was the best. He manuevered that bus through the narrow streets of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Alexandria, Virginia. I would not want his job. But he loves his job and we love him!

The Viet Nam Wall is extraordinary. You can see a few people doing "rubbings" of their loved ones. As you can see the names on the wall are small and the wall is very, very long.......

They guard the tomb 24 hours a week, 7 days a week. There was only one time because of the weather (I believe it was a hurricane) that they were released from duty, but they chose to continue the guard. They are amazing!

If you have never seen the "Changing of the Guard" at the tomb of the unknown soldier, this is a "must do." What an experience! These men make huge sacrifices for the honor of guarding the tomb.

This is the Naval Academy Chapel. Alicia and I have videotapped weddings here. It's just breathtaking with a VERY LONG aisle.

Living in the Baltimore area, I never realized how beautiful Baltimore is.

One of our many highlights of the trip was that some of our group were picked to help the Park Ranger at Ft. McHenry change the flag. Every morning at 10 a.m. they lower the small flag and raise the large flag. It was quite an honor.

We had quite a few Birthdays and Anniversarys during our trip.

While in Philadelphia, PA, we had Betsy Ross as our tour guide.

While in New York, we went on an exquisite gourmet dinner cruise of the New York Harbor. The Statute of Liberty is quite a site at night from a ship.

We left Florida to be the "tailgunners" on Adventure Caravan's 26 day Historical East Coast trip. We started the trip in Boston, MA, and ended in Williamsburg, VA. We took a half day to go whale watching leaving the Plymouth Port.

Of course, sunrise at our home in Maryland is pretty impressive.

With sunsets like this, how can you NOT miss Florida.

"Master" Grillmaster Mike at the top of the list.

After a long, hot day in the boat, we decided to cool off with the fish. Lucky for us we did not see any gators in the area.

AND even monkeys, YES I SAID MONKEYS. They are ancestors of the monkeys the film industry brought to Silver Springs, Florida in the 1930s to film the original Tarzan movie. They failed to catch them all after they filmed the movie!

While Bill is hard at work. Bill worked the train at Animal Kingdom and I worked Soarin at Epcot. We had a great time working for DisneyWorld. When we weren't working, we enjoyed our time at the park.


Once we got to Florida, we went to work for Walt DisneyWorld part time. Here is a picture of Sue, Jimmy Cricket, Carol, and Marcia hanging out.


As soon as Bill retired, we planned to head for Florida. A few weeks before we headed out, our plans changed (you can do that when you are retired). My cousin, Juanita, and her husband, Ralph, and grandkids invited us to camp with them in the hills of North Carolina. So we took a side trip with our grandson, Shane, on the way to Florida and tubed down the Tow River. We enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to camp with them again. Here is a picture of Shane tubing.
