Heros Gala - Baltimore Convention Center - 4/25/09

This is Tony speaking at the Awards Gala in front of 1,700 people
at the Baltimore Convention Center.

And this is what he said:

I almost died, but you wouldn't let me. Thank you so much for keeping me alive; it doesn't sound like it was easy. Thank you also for supporting my parents during the ordeal; they needed it. I want to thank each and everyone of my heroes who had a part in my care. They say it's a miracle I'm alive. I say 'heroes' make miracles.

From all of "T's" friends, we would also like to thank his heros. Thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty, thank you for your kindness, thank you for always being there, thank you for caring, and most of all thank you for making Tony your friend.

"T"

My very good friend, "T"

From left: Mary Ann Damico, his mother; Erica Brown, a nurse; Kristen Sexton, physical therapist; Tony's niece; Siobhan Rude, a nurse; and Onier Villareal, a doctor. In the front row are Tony Damico and his father, Anthony Damico.

This Saturday evening, "T" will be honoring his heroes from the Maryland Shock Trauma Center who saved his life after a bicycle accident in July 2007. He will be addressing a crowd of hundreds (maybe thousands) to give his thanks. "T" is my hero. He has overcome so many obstacles in his 2 1/2 years of recovery and continues to persevere. He has more strength and discipline than anyone I know. T, WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU. To read his story, The Capital published it today, or Hometown Annapolis has it online at: http://www.hometownannapolis.com/news/top/2009/04/24-31/Gala-gives-victims-families-chance-to-thank-trauma-staff.html

Easter Sunday

Soon after we arrived at Alicia & Chris' for Easter Sunday, Billy & Jenn decided their dog, Malu needed some tiring out. So into the Chesapeake Bay went the stick and Malu to fetch it.

Alicia's dog, Dylan, decided to join in on the fun, but chose to stay on dry land.

Once they tired out, it was time to settle down & dry.

You can see that Dylan's trying to eat Malu's food.

Then it was time for the big Easter Egg Hunt

There were so many great places to hide the eggs.

WHOOPS! Looks like a couple of baskets got dumped.

Time to eat and what a great meal prepared by Alicia.

Then time to rest.

It was a great day for all!

Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom - April 3, 2009

The Cherry Blossoms in Washington, D.C., were actually in full bloom for the Parade this year. As usual, after they were in full bloom, the wind came, then the rain, and then the blossoms are gone within days. I tried to get down there on Monday to show you that they don't look this beautiful for very long, but never got there.
