Grand Coulee Dam

Making our way to the Coulee Dam was more of the same, a spectacular view! As we made our way north towards Olympia, Washington, we were able to see Mt. Rainier even better. It is over 14,000 feet in elevation.

Once we made it over the first mountain range, the scenery went from green terrain

to brown terrain.

The closer we got to the Coulee Dam, the more beautiful the view. Every day of this trip we said it can’t get any more beautiful, but it does!

We finally reached the dam just in time to see the 8:30 film (couldn’t believe the visitor’s center stays open until 11 p.m.) on how the glacial flooding shaped the land in Montana, Idaho, and Washington millions of years ago. What a fantastic movie. It’s amazing that scientists have figured it all out.

At 10 p.m. the laser light show on the Coulee Dam began. All we can say is WOW! It was spectacular! The show was about 45 min.

Then off to find a place to pull over and catch some sleep. Upon waking, we found that we had a beautiful view.
